Job Description

Financial Planning & Governance LeadThe Financial Planning & Governance Lead is a strategic role responsible for establishing, structuring, and maintaining the organization’s financial planning frameworks, governance policies, internal control structures, and compliance with IFRS standards.The role provides strategic financial insights and advisory support to senior management, ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and regulatory compliance while supporting decision-making for growth, investment, and operational excellence. The position ensures that governance frameworks and financial structures across the organization are designed, implemented, monitored, and maintained in line with IFRS requirements.This role is non-operational, focused on planning, structuring, governance, IFRS compliance, and oversight rather than day-to-day accounting or transactional finance activities.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Planning and AdvisoryLead the development of multi-year financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth objectives.Structure and map the organization’s financials to ensure alignment with IFRS standards.Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing to evaluate financial resilience.Provide strategic guidance on capital allocation, investment decisions, and funding strategies.Assess the financial feasibility and risk of major initiatives, projects, and business models.Financial Governance, Compliance, and Risk ManagementDesign, implement, and maintain comprehensive financial governance frameworks and policies.Ensure all financial activities comply with internal standards, IFRS requirements, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Establish and monitor internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulations.Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure governance, IFRS, and compliance standards are met.Conduct periodic governance reviews and IFRS compliance audits to ensure ongoing adherence.Recommend improvements in financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance accountability, transparency, and IFRS compliance.Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance AnalysisLead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and integrated financial planning processes.Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators, analyzing variances and trends.Prepare high-level financial reports and dashboards for senior management with actionable recommendations.Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate the outcomes of key projects and initiatives.Financial Control and Policy OversightDevelop, implement, and periodically review finance policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.Ensure organizational adherence to financial control frameworks and recommend improvements.Drive initiatives to enhance financial transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.Maintain the organization’s financial records, structure, and reporting in accordance with IFRS standards.Stakeholder Engagement and LeadershipBe on top of all financial planning, governance, IFRS compliance, and oversight matters.Translate complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.Lead cross-functional initiatives involving finance, strategy, and operations.Mentor teams on financial governance, IFRS compliance, and strategic planning best practices.Continuous Improvement and InnovationIdentify and implement best practices, tools, and technologies in financial planning, governance, and reporting.Ensure frameworks remain up-to-date with accounting, regulatory, and governance trends, including IFRS standards.Financial Integrity & ReportingEnsure accuracy, completeness, and transparency of reporting.Drive standardization of processes across the organization to improve efficiency and reliability.Support corporate disclosures, board reporting, and external audit requirements.Minimum requirements of roleBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Years of ExperienceMinimum +7 years of experience, preferably in military sector or related fields.Strong knowledge of project accounting principles, budgeting, and cost control.Experience supporting bidding, RFI, and RFQ processes.Familiarity with military and regulations (preferred, if applicable).Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and financial analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to travel and work in field environments as needCustomer Focus.Strong knowledge of financial governance, IFRS standards, compliance, internal controls, and risk management.#J-18808-Ljbffr
