Job OverviewAmazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner and support the retail category specific finance activity. This role will be based in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be a thoughtful analytical, highly customer‑obsessed self‑starter with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. The candidate would play a key role in driving the function/category agenda and would work as a finance partner in delivering the business results.The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to effectively manage the finance of a high‑growth business, be comfortable working in cross‑functional teams, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate must have superior attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously. The position represents an exciting opportunity to be a part of an extremely dynamic and high‑paced environment supporting a global organization and offers significant opportunities for rapid growth.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform financial reporting and support monthly P&L analysis and financial forecastsFacilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost managementMeasure and monitor metrics for new business initiativesAssist in measuring and reporting progress on key goals for the business team in a timely mannerFacilitate business reviews with data analysis and follow through with business leaders on actionable items for improving business metricsPerform ad‑hoc business analyses and financial modeling; present recommendations to senior management on strategic decisions and planned future initiativesPartner with the global leadership team to develop strategic long‑term operating plansDemonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controlsServe as team lead for medium and large‑scale projectsActively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or requiredLead cross‑functional systems and process improvement initiativesQualifications6 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience5 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience5 years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes experienceBachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re‑engineering, quality assurance) experienceExperience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligenceMBA or CPAExperience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)EEO StatementOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
