Exterior Design Engineer

Job Description As an Exterior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for generating CAD concepts and solutions for ongoing and new projects for Door Trims using CATIA V5. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing various Exterior Trims components such as Aero trays, Wheel arch liners, Heatshields, Active Vanes, and more - Utilizing CATIA V5 & V6 for Generative Shape design, Part Design, Assembly & Drawing workbench - Creating parametric 3D proposals in Catia, defining materials, and creating components and assembly drawings - Conducting packaging studies, environment checks, and kinematics simulations - Ensuring compliance with DFM and DFA principles - Ensuring system, sub-system, and components meet required interfaces and regulatory standards - Supporting CAD design progress aligned with program timescales - Communicating effectively with stakeholders including Design team, legal, packaging, etc. - Ensuring project deliverables are met Qualifications and Experience Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field - 4-7 years of experience in using CATIA V5 - Strong design skills in Exterior Trims/Ornamentation/Black Trim commodities - Experience in Team Centre Engineering (TCE) - Knowledge of component/system design, function, performance, production, and manufacturing requirements - Excellent communication skills at all levels Additionally, you should have a successful history of delivery within the automotive sector. PC literacy in Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, and Word will be essential for this role.
