Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities:Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:Conduct routine inspections and audits of project sites to ensure adherence to OSHAD and other relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.Identify hazards and risks, implementing corrective measures to mitigate them.Ensure all project activities comply with company safety policies and established procedures.Incident Investigation and Reporting:Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and propose preventive measures.Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain comprehensive records of all safety-related events.Ensure timely reporting of incidents to authorities and project stakeholders.Training and Awareness:Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for project teams and contractors to foster safety awareness.Develop and deliver training programs covering specific safety topics, ensuring alignment with OSHAD guidelines.Stay updated on safety regulations and best practices, sharing this knowledge with project teams.Safety Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain complete and up-to-date safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and incident logs.Ensure all safety records are easily accessible and meet regulatory compliance standards.Prepare and submit regular safety performance reports to project managers and stakeholders.Coordination and Communication:Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety requirements into project activities.Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to promote proactive health, safety, and environmental management.Participate in project meetings to update safety performance and address safety-related concerns.Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.At least 8 years of relevant experience in health and safety within infrastructure projects.Successful completion of the Abu Dhabi Occupational Health and Safety (ADOSH-SF) Practitioners Course with a Grade B registration or higher (or equivalent OSH practitioner approval), along with NEBOSH IGC (Level 3) or above, and ISO-45001 Lead Auditor certification.Deep understanding of OSHAD standards and other health, safety, and environmental regulations in Abu Dhabi.Proven experience in effectively managing safety programs on construction sites.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective actions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead training sessions and communicate safety standards to diverse teams.Additional certifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly advantageous.#J-18808-Ljbffr
