GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi is hiring for an enthusiasticEnglish Teacher (KS3/4) to join our team from August 2026. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students across Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering high quality English lessons that develop critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading and writing. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student progress within a supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking learning environment.Overall Function and Purpose:To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the NationalCurriculumFramework under the overall guidance of the competent educationauthority.Teach and assess assigned students according to their educational needs and deliver the relevant curriculum, ensuring that each student achieves academic success. Contribute to the wider school community.Main Responsibilities:Deliver the required curriculum; demonstrating accurate and up to date knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.Ensuring a safe, clean, clutter free, conducive environment that optimizes great student outcomes.Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class according to their varying abilities.Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students.Adopting and working towards the implementation of the school development plan of the school.Assigning work, correcting and marking work carried out by his/her students. Marking according to the school’s marking policy.Setting the highest expectations for every child in the class and assisting learners to realize their potential which will enable them to work in a manner that shows the high standards in the workbooks.Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment andbehavior of one’s students.Analyzing data and using it to adapt classroom practice to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students.Participating in arrangements within an agreed national framework for the appraisalof students’ performance.Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her.Providing guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and targets.Communicating, consulting and co-operating with other members of the school staff, including those having posts of special responsibility and parents/guardians.Reviewing and evaluating one’s own teaching and learning strategies, methodologies and programme/s in line with the National Curriculum Framework guidelines in order to improve teaching and learning in the classroom.Advising and co-operating with the Head of School, Deputy Heads, Assistant Head Teachers, Heads of Years, and other teachers in the preparation and development of curriculum design, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care arrangements.Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject/s. Through effective dialogue, participating in reciprocal peer review and observation of class teaching practice by the Head of Department.Participating in continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, and taking part in action research exercises.Maintaining good order and discipline amongst students under one’s care andsafeguarding their health and safety at all times.Reporting all concerns that jeopardizes the safety of the learner, whether emotional or physical, to the safe-guarding officer of the school.Participating in staff, group or other meetings related to the school curriculum or pastoral care arrangements, for the better organization and administration of the school.Contributing to the professional development of new teachers and student teachers according to arrangements agreed with the Head of School.Providing the necessary information and advice to the designated personnel in the school and to provide all the necessary information regarding requisitions and arrangements in connection with the teaching of the subject/s assigned to him/her.Ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment normally used by oneself during lessons and sees to its regular servicing and maintenance.Ensuring the safe custody of the laptop, white board pen and remote given to him/her upon commencement.Participating in school assemblies and parent assemblies as stipulated by Head of School.Attending the termly parent meetings as per the policy.Registering and monitoring the attendance of students under one’s care and following up on the same day if a student is absent.Ensuring that the attendance is marked regularly and timeously every day.Sharing in any possible and reasonable way in the effective management, organisati
