Job Description As an Engineer III Software Development at Boston Scientific, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure and scalable backend services for a healthcare imaging platform. Your role will involve working with Python 3.x, NGINX, and custom networking services to ensure secure data handling and integration with frontend imaging components. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services using Python 3.x.
- Configure and manage NGINX as a reverse proxy for secure communication.
- Implement mutual TLS (mTLS) for authentication and secure data exchange.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to support frontend and third-party integrations.
- Integrate LUKS encryption for secure storage and data protection.
- Develop and maintain custom network services tailored to healthcare imaging workflows.
- Ensure API security, scalability, and performance in a healthcare context.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver robust solutions.
- Support basic QA and DevOps activities related to backend development.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Total of 10 years of experience with 5-7 years of experience in backend development using Python 3.x.
- Experience with NGINX configuration and reverse proxy setup.
- Good knowledge of SQL database, mTLS authentication, and LUKS encryption.
- Experience with custom networking services and secure backend architecture.
- Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HIPAA is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD tools preferred.
- Basic knowledge of QA and DevOps processes.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
