An established, multi-specialty hospital in Sharjah is looking for an embryologist to join their IVF team. MOH license required.The job purpose is to provide the technical and scientific skills and knowledge required to deliver a comprehensive assisted conception service.RequirementsDegree in relevant scientific subject: B.Sc or M.Sc in applied science/biologyMinimum 2 years of experience in IVF laboratoryTissue cell culture experience or previous IVF trainingPhysical SkillsSkills requiring specialist hand-eye coordination, highly developed visual skills, and delicacy of touch, dexterity, and speed are practised on a daily basis, including:Semen analysis: assessing quality of spermSelecting sperm, ICSI: injecting a sperm into an eggHandling of eggs and embryosAbility to use complicated equipment, performing separate procedures with both hands simultaneouslyAbility to react to rapidly changing situations during the procedure, subtle visual clues e.g. the deterioration of sperm or eggs whilst under the microscopeCommunication and RelationshipsThe post holder will ensure clarity and understanding of information given to patients, staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team, providing and receiving complex and sensitive information regarding aspects of patients’ reproductive health.Analytical and Judgmental SkillsWork unsupervised, providing the necessary scientific and technical skills necessary for different methods of assisted conception, including:Analysing and interpreting results of tests/investigations, making recommendations as to treatment options available to patientsAssessment of human embryos, making the decision as to suitability for uterine transfer or cryopreservationResponsible for the decision regarding the viability of thawed embryos and their suitability for treatment#J-18808-Ljbffr
