AWS is contributing to the UAE’s goal of employing 75,000 Emiratis in the private sector and strives to develop the first 25 Emirati talent in a fresh pipeline.Program DetailsDuration: 6 months full‑time (40 hours/week) with a view to becoming permanent at the end of the traineeship, depending on performance.Schedule: Standard Monday‑Friday day schedule.The program gives exposure to the skills required for a future full‑time Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role; full‑time roles may involve shifts, weekends, and on‑call rotations.Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; updates can be checked via the candidate portal.Key Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment.Support root cause analysis of equipment failures.Help troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.Use the internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage workflows.Work alongside third‑party vendors and contractors on‑site.Operate equipment that supports mission‑critical servers, including but not limited to diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.Physical RequirementsWorking at heights and from ladders.Regularly lifting/moving up to 22 kg (49 lbs) unassisted, and participating in group lifts for heavier loads.Using hands to handle and manipulate small tools, wires, and objects.Basic QualificationsUAE National with family book.Recently graduated or currently enrolled in the final semester, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a Technical/Trade school program in HVAC, electrical, facilities maintenance, or similar.Preferred QualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Good time management and organizational skills.About The TeamAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
