Job Description

Purpose of the Job:The Director of Product Development and Market Intelligence is responsible for leading the design, validation, and commercialization of innovative port and logistics services, while generating strategic market insights to inform commercial decision-making. This role serves as the bridge between customer needs, operational feasibility, and revenue growth opportunities. It plays a critical role in positioning the company as a forward-looking, customer-centric, and sustainability-driven port operator.Key Responsibilities:1- Product Innovation and Development:Lead the ideation, feasibility analysis, and design of new services, value-added offerings, and bundled solutions tailored to client needs, market trends, and strategic priorities.Develop ESG-aligned service offerings, including green logistics, low-emission solutions, and sustainability-linked services that meet emerging regulatory and customer demands.Identify and develop digital service innovations such as online booking tools, customer dashboards, and real-time cargo visibility solutions.Collaborate with Operations, ICT, Technical Services, and Strategy to ensure technical and operational viability of new products.Develop business cases for new product lines, including cost structures, projected revenue, investment requirements, and scalability potential.Pilot Projects and Implementation Oversee pilot projects for service innovations, including tracking of performance metrics, customer feedback, and commercial viability.Coordinate cross-functional resources and stakeholder input to ensure scalable implementation of successful pilots. Standardize high-performing solutions into mainstream offerings across terminals, incorporating digital and ESG components as needed.Commercial Enablement Provide product knowledge, customized solution proposals, and pricing structures to the Group Commercial Head and key account teams.Lead the creation of commercial documentation, digital service catalogs, and playbooks to support commercial teams.Train and equip sales and commercial staff to position and promote new and sustainable services effectively.2- Pilot Projects and Implementation:Oversee pilot projects for service innovations, including tracking of performance metrics, customer feedback, and commercial viability.Coordinate cross-functional resources and stakeholder input to ensure scalable implementation of successful pilots.Standardize high-performing solutions into mainstream offerings across terminals, incorporating digital and ESG components as needed.3- Commercial Enablement:Provide product knowledge, customized solution proposals, and pricing structures to the Group Commercial Head and key account teams.Lead the creation of commercial documentation, digital service catalogs, and playbooks to support commercial teams.Train and equip sales and commercial staff to position and promote new and sustainable services effectively.4- Market and Customer Intelligence:Conduct ongoing market and competitive research to identify demand trends, pricing benchmarks, regulatory shifts, and innovation gaps.Monitor customer behavior, sustainability targets, and digital adoption patterns to inform product and commercial strategy.Consolidate market data into actionable insights and contribute to strategic planning, pricing decisions, and portfolio reviews.5- Strategic Bid and Expansion Support:Provide product and market intelligence inputs for technical and financial bid proposals, supporting concessions, M&A, and strategic partnerships.Draft product-related content for proposals, including service designs, technical specifications, digital enablement plans, and ESG-aligned value propositions.6- Reporting and Performance Monitoring:Define and monitor product KPIs (adoption, revenue contribution, customer satisfaction, and sustainability impact).Maintain a product development pipeline and innovation roadmap aligned with terminal capabilities and group growth objectives.Use analytics platforms and digital tools to assess performance and guide product refinements.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in product development, solution design, or commercial innovation in ports, shipping, logistics, or supply chain.Strong understanding of container terminal operations, customer pain points, and value-added logistics solutions.Demonstrated success in designing and launching commercially viable products or services.Excellent cross-functional leadership, analytical, and communication skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
