Director, Health Information Center (Qatari Nationals Only)

The job holder shall be responsible for:Overseeing the management of health-related information from public and private sector as well as the registration of birth and death in the State of Qatar.Directing and managing health statistics, directing analytics or disease prevention programs.Serving as the senior level advisor to the Assistant Undersecretary and the Minister of Health on all activities related to health information and statistics - the health component of the Qatar health statistical system.Address and follow up researches and studies carried out by international organizations and scientific bodies in the field of health and make use of them to benefit public health at national level.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesOversee and organize the development of a central health database of health data and information and make it available to serve the goals and objectives of planning and decision-making.Guide health data and information analysis and deduce the indicators which support the decision-making process regarding planning and developing the health sector.Spearhead executive and scientific direction to the Center's data processing activities which include public health research into questions of health information systems design and data input.Represent the Ministry of Public Health while the data exchange on public health information with regional and international institutions across the world.Oversee and monitor the research and studies carried out by international organizations and scientific bodies in the field of public health and preparing related reports.Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for the operation of the department.Centralize the birth and death registration in the state of Qatar.Streamline the health data and information collection to conduct statistical surveys and prepare reports thereon.Facilitate the data collection and integration from various health facilities within Qatar.Facilitate the preparation of statistics related to health data and information at national level.Designated to support public health strategies and programs with various stakeholders.Oversee the development of data logs and maintain necessary databases of reports and other documents that are required.Enforce the feedback and complaints related to the department operations are analyzed and corrective actions are taken.Motivate and guide the staff under the department of Health Informatics Centre.Enhance the technical collaboration with WHO-EMRO in complying with the international agreements and the monitoring of public health goals.Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.Bachelor’s and master’s degree in any of the following: biostatistics, health informatics, public health, epidemiology, or related health sciences.Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Health Information System in which 5 years in management/leadership role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
