Design Technologist (Designer)

Role OverviewA Design Technologist in a design systems unit serves as a bridge between designers and developers supporting both to build consistent high-quality digital products across the organization. Design system engineer acts as a workflow integrator ensuring cohesion between design and engineering. Ideal for someone who can take design ideas from prototypes through to production-ready code.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with designers to translate high-fidelity UI designs into interactive coded UI components.Build and maintain design-system components (React VUE Angular) ensuring design consistency across products.Develop accessible performant responsive interfaces (WCAG standards internationalization).Document design patterns assist in creating/maintaining the style guide and code library.Document Design System components in Storybook.Work within agile methodologies participate in Agile ceremonies across Tribes.Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to refine component define and integrate design tokens and APIs.Requirements & SkillsTechnical SkillsHTML5 CSS3 (SASS/LESS) JavaScript (ES6) solid foundationFamiliarity with at least one modern UI framework or library (React/VUE/Angular)Build/design tooling: Storybook STYLEGUIDIST Figma to code plugins Babel Web packUnderstanding of component architecture: THEMING tokens props APIAccessibility (WCAG 2.0/2.1) responsive design mobile-firstVersion control (GitHub)Agile/scrum experienceDesign & UX SkillsProficient in FigmaStrong sense of interaction visual and motion design with attention to detailUX fundamentals: user flows accessibility inclusive designFamiliarity with ISO usability standards (ISO 9241) a plusSoft SkillsExcellent communication & cross-functional teamwork abilitiesProblem-solving mindset and attention to detailAnalytical mindset: use data & feedback to iterateSelf-starter proactive in system improvementsExperience & Qualifications2-5 years in front-end product design UX engineering or similarExperience working on or contributing to a design systemBachelor s degree in HCI interaction design computer science or related field preferredEducation2-5 years in front-end, product design, UX engineering or similarBachelor s degree in HCI, interaction design, computer science, or related field preferred#J-18808-Ljbffr
