Design Technologist (Banking Client)

Are you passionate about building seamless bridges between design and development? We are seeking a Design Technologist to join our client’s design systems team in the banking sector. In this role, you’ll act as a workflow integrator—translating design concepts into production-ready code and ensuring design consistency across digital products.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with designers to translate high-fidelity UI designs into interactive, coded UI components.Build and maintain design-system components (React, Vue, Angular) ensuring design consistency across applications.Develop accessible, performant, and responsive interfaces aligned with WCAG standards and internationalisation.Document design patterns, style guides, and code libraries.Create and maintain component documentation in Storybook.Participate in Agile ceremonies across squads/tribes, working closely with front-end engineers to define and integrate design tokens and APIs.Technical SkillsStrong foundation in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+)Experience with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue, or Angular)Proficiency with tooling: Storybook, Styleguidist, Figma-to-code plugins, Babel, WebpackKnowledge of component architecture: theming, tokens, props APIExperience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0/2.1), responsive design, mobile-firstVersion control (Git/GitHub)Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologyDesign & UX SkillsProficient in FigmaStrong sense of interaction, visual, and motion designUnderstanding of UX fundamentals: user flows, accessibility, inclusive designFamiliarity with ISO 9241 usability standards is a plusSoft SkillsExcellent communication and cross-functional teamwork abilitiesStrong problem-solving mindset with attention to detailAnalytical and data-driven approach to design iterationsSelf-starter, proactive in system improvementsQualifications2–5 years of experience in front-end development, product design, UX engineering, or similar roles.Prior experience contributing to a design system is highly preferred.Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or related field is desirable.Why Join?Work with one of the largest banking groups in the UAE, contributing to cutting-edge digital banking products.Be part of a cross-functional, agile team shaping the future of customer-centric design systems.Opportunity to blend design and engineering skills to deliver impactful user experiences.#J-18808-Ljbffr
