Design & Estimation Engineer

OverviewJob Code: 330/001/177Industry: Fire Protection / Fire & Safety SystemsWorking Days: Monday – SaturdayWorking Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PMJob BriefThe Design & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing fire-fighting system designs and accurate cost estimates in accordance with NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code. The role supports tendering, technical submissions, and project coordination across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign fire-fighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pump rooms, FM-200, CO₂, and foam systems as per NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements.Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings, coordination layouts, hydraulic calculations, and all required technical documentation.Review project specifications and ensure proper system integration with MEP, architectural, and structural services.Conduct site assessments when required to validate design feasibility and project conditions.Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, and accurate cost estimates for tenders and quotations.Evaluate supplier quotations, ensure technical compliance, and recommend suitable materials.Support sales and project teams with technical clarifications, value engineering, and tender submissions.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in the design and estimation of fire-fighting systems.Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.Experience in sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, suppression systems (FM-200 / CO₂ / foam), and fire-alarm interfaces.Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of hydraulic calculation tools is an advantage.Ability to prepare compliant technical submissions, BOQs, and design documentation.Strong analytical, technical, and coordination skills.Please visit our jobs page to check out our current list of jobs in UAE and across the world.
