Job Description
Job Description As a Process Engineer at our organization, you will play a crucial role in studying, implementing, and enhancing material management and storage practices within the factory. Your responsibilities will include driving improvements in inbound logistics and material flow for multi-model, low to medium volume production lines, as well as designing and optimizing warehouse capacity based on production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
- Map components, classify them, and create process flows
- Define assembly sequences and prepare digital assembly flows
- Conduct value stream mapping to compare current and future states
- Manage material lists, inventory, and staging methods
- Define material feeding methods such as kitting, trolleys, pallets, and storage locations
Equipment Planning
- Plan equipment like lean lifters, VSRS, and racking systems
- Optimize cycle times and equipment usage
- Identify material handling solutions for warehouse and line feeding
In-Plant Logistics
- Define warehouse capacity and material flow processes
- Manage line-side logistics, kitting, and staging
- Implement PFEP, Kanban, and stock calculations
Layout Configuration
- Prepare 2D/3D layouts for assembly lines and logistics
- Define equipment placement, storage, and handling strategies
Time Study and Analysis
- Perform MOST and activity mapping
- Conduct ergonomic and simulation analysis
- Perform AVIX study and VA/NVA analysis
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Experience Requirements
Education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience
Knowledge
- Experience in Methods Engineering and shop floor operations
- Knowledge of inventory classification and material handling systems
- Experience in 3D modeling using CAD systems
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MES systems
- Knowledge of simulation software such as FlexSim, Delmia, Technomatix, Automode
Software Skills
- Proficiency in Teamcenter, Inventor, FactoryCAD, AutoCAD 2017, and MS Office 2016
- Familiarity with Autodesk Vault, SmarTeam, or Enovia (added advantage)
- Experience with Delmia, Technomatix, and Automode
Personality Requirements
- Strong interaction and interpersonal skills
- Smart working approach with the ability to handle challenging tasks within defined timelines
- Effective communication skills in English
Location and Travel
- Base location: GECIA, Hinjawadi, Pune, India
- Willingness to travel to customer locations for business purposes, including short-term and long-term assignments (approximately 20%)
