Deputy Vice President - Commercial LinesReporting to the Executive Vice President – Non-Motor, this role is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of accounts, securing profitable renewals and new business within agreed strategy, processes, and risk appetite. The position involves account planning, underwriting decisions, and supporting business development through effective analysis, communication, and relationship management.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality customer service and maintain strong, long-term client relationshipsUnderwrite commercial risks within agreed processes, and risk appetiteManage and develop a portfolio of onshore UAE accounts across new and renewal businessSecure profitable renewals while identifying and converting new business opportunitiesContribute to the development, agreement, and execution of detailed account plansProvide input into the drafting and review of policy wordings to ensure accuracy and complianceParticipate in technical audits, peer reviews, and control activities to support governanceSupport marketing and business development initiatives aligned with account strategiesManage customer complaints within licence authority to ensure fair and timely resolutionEnsure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and documentation controlsActively engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including CRM and service enhancementsProvide technical guidance and day-to-day support to less experienced colleaguesPeople ResponsibilitiesExecute best-practice customer service standards and assess customer satisfaction professionallyCoordinate Risk Management Services for all commercial lines of businessManage and support technical referrals on new and renewal businessOversee policy administration and maintain complete, auditable files across all platformsParticipate in departmental projects to enhance service quality and market alignmentDemonstrate high attention to detail in all underwriting and servicing activitiesMaintain a strong client-focused approach, delivering service excellence internally and externallyManage conflicts effectively by balancing differing viewpointsApply structured problem-solving and sound professional judgementTake initiative, plan and organise work effectively, and adapt flexibly to changing demandsEducation / QualificationsStrong internal networks and effective collaboration with Sales and distribution teamsWell-developed external relationships with customers and intermediaries3–5 years experience in an underwriting role, within general insuranceProven underwriting expertise in property and liability linesGood interpersonal skills with clear and effective communication in EnglishAppropriate professional qualifications, licences, and regulatory accreditation#J-18808-Ljbffr
