Job Description

Job Description Role Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling the data science engine that enhances Trust & Safety measures. Your main focus will be on designing Live-specific trust policies, real-time multi-modal moderation systems, and buyer/transaction risk frameworks to minimize UPI/BBE instances while upholding seller standards across various categories and markets. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, Payments, and Business Units is crucial to deliver executive-ready Steerco metrics and dashboards for guiding strategic decisions. This position requires hands-on leadership, strong analytical skills, applied ML expertise, and the ability to translate complex risk trade-offs into clear business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - Define Live-specific trust policies and seller standards, establish compliance monitoring, and develop investigation playbooks for UPIs and cancellations based on ticket value. - Collaborate with Product, BU, Engineering, and Payments teams to enforce policies, facilitate remediation, and ensure seller accountability. - Develop buyer and transaction risk scoring systems to manage UPI and chargeback risk proactively, particularly in high-ASP Live flows. - Create guardrails and conduct experiments to minimize UPI/BBE occurrences while safeguarding genuine buyers, effectively balancing trust and conversion. - Define transparent trust metrics (e.g., UPI rate, BBE, false SNAD) with set thresholds, review checkpoints, and quality checks. - Establish leadership dashboards and scorecards incorporating key leading and lagging indicators across markets and categories, and automate regular reporting. - Conduct causal and experimental studies on payment product and policy changes to quantify impact, risk trade-offs, and buyer influence. - Design and implement real-time moderation models for chat, audio, and video, with defined quality metrics. Qualifications: - 9+ years of experience in Analytics/Data Science, with a strong background in Trust & Safety, Risk, Fraud, or Marketplace Integrity. - Demonstrated expertise in advanced analytics, causal inference, and experimental design. - Hands-on experience in applying AI/ML to moderation, fraud/risk detection, anomaly detection, or similar areas. - Proficient in SQL and Python, with experience in handling data for real-time and streaming applications. - Previous experience in developing executive-ready dashboards and BI reporting for large-scale programs. - Sound understanding of marketplace economics, trust policies, and payments risk, with the ability to balance protection and growth effectively. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with real-time systems and various data formats (text, audio, video). - Strong product understanding for buyer and seller tools, trust programs, and enforcement workflows. - Ability to operate frameworks and drive measurable impact quickly at scale. - Proficient in effectively communicating insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
