Job Description As a Data Scientist III, Product Analytics at Expedia, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of travel by leveraging data and insights to enhance the user experience for millions of Expedia customers. Here is a breakdown of your responsibilities and qualifications:
Role Overview:
You will be a key member of the global product analytics team, focusing on Checkout product analytics. Your primary goal will be to support key business decisions throughout the product development lifecycle to improve the user experience on Checkout and confirmation pages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an expert on Checkout user behavior data
- Influence Checkout product decisions and roadmap through data-driven insights
- Establish measurement framework and targets to align with Checkout strategy
- Provide requirements for Checkout data capture to optimize the product
- Lead end-to-end A/B testing for Checkout, including test design and analysis
- Collaborate with Checkout product managers to define project needs and track progress
- Share key Checkout analytics updates with cross-functional teams for decision-making
- Stay updated on industry developments to drive innovation within Expedia Group
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, physics, data science)
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to senior executives
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity
- Proficiency in SQL or other programming languages (R, Python) for analyzing large datasets
- Experience with Web Analytics tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics Premium
- Knowledge of experimentation techniques such as AB Tests and multivariate testing
- Ability to interpret machine learning models for forecasting and propensity modeling
