Job OverviewAWS has an exciting Data Center Facility Engineer opportunity in Dubai available for a UAE national with family book. AWS are committed to contributing towards the UAE's goal of employing 75,000 Emiratis in the private sector and Ministerial Resolution No.279.Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a UAE National Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, and ensuring facility operations meet safety and performance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world‑class safety culture. Remediate safety risks/issues with other teams and own safety initiatives and projects.Support electrical and mechanical equipment including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Transformers.Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical emergency generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and drive innovation while reducing operational costs.Work rotational shifts (four 12‑hour days followed by two nights, then four days off) and respond to on‑call rotations and emergency calls.Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.Day in the LifeWork rotational shifts of four 12‑hour days, two days followed by two nights, and four days off (including night weekends and holidays). Respond to on‑call rotation reactions to off‑duty emergency calls. Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
