Primary ResponsibilitiesCultural Advisory & LiaisonAdvise U.S. military leadership on UAE / Host Nation culture, customs, laws, and protocolsFacilitate effective communication and relationship-building with UAE military and government counterpartsSupport key leader engagements (KLEs), official meetings, and joint activitiesTranslation & InterpretationProvide accurate Arabic–English interpretation, translation, and transcription (oral and written)Translate official correspondence, reports, agreements, and operational documentsSupport meetings, site visits, negotiations, and emergency coordinationOperational SupportSupport immigration, emigration, sponsorship, and base access coordinationAssist contracting, logistics, medical, airfield operations, engineering, and public affairs unitsCoordinate with Host Nation entities including military, police, hospitals, and ministriesProvide cultural briefs and institutional knowledge transfer to incoming U.S. personnelEmergency & Crisis ResponseRespond to emergencies within 2 hoursRespond to crisis situations within 20 minutes (24 / 7)Support real-time coordination during medical emergencies, security incidents, and high-level engagementsMandatory Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)Citizenship & ClearanceU.S. Citizen (required)Active DoD SECRET security clearance (interim not accepted)Language ProficiencyModern Standard Arabic – ILR Level 3+English – ILR Level 3+(Verified via DLPT or equivalent assessment)DocumentationValid U.S. PassportValid U.S. Drivers LicenseInternational Drivers PermitAbility to obtain UAE residency / work visaBackground RequirementsNo felony convictionsNo pending criminal chargesNo alcohol-related arrests within the past 5 yearsNo history of violence or moral turpitudeNo involvement in extremist or hate-based organizationsEligible for Host Nation base access approvalExperience RequirementsDemonstrated experience as a Cultural Advisor, Interpreter, Linguist, or similar roleStrong understanding of Middle East / Gulf region cultureExperience supporting military, diplomatic, or government environments preferredAbility to operate effectively under pressure in high-tempo operational environmentsPhysical & Medical RequirementsAbility to meet OCONUS deployment medical standardsAbility to work extended hours during emergencies or crisesAbility to operate in austere or high-stress environmentsProfessional ConductMaintain professional appearance and culturally appropriate attireAdhere to U.S. Air Force, CENTCOM, and Host Nation regulationsMaintain strict confidentiality and information security standardsLeadership Cultural Advisor (Additional Requirement – If Assigned)Minimum 2 years Cultural Advisor or Interpreter experienceMinimum 1 year supervisory experienceResponsible for scheduling, coordination, and reporting across the CA teamProvide weekly updates and monthly performance reports to U.S. Government leadership#J-18808-Ljbffr
