<div><h3>Job Summary:</h3><p>Coordinates the Mortality and Morbidity (M&M) review process including support and training of physicians and identifies and presents cases which require discussion at the M&M Committee. Monitors Hospital-wide compliance with the M&M IPP.</p><h3>Essential Responsibilities and Duties:</h3><ul><li>Coordinates M&M review process, performs chart reviews, and allocates cases to departments for review as necessary.</li><li>Chooses, prepares and presents cases for discussion at M&M Committees, identifies and focuses on cases where there are areas of possible mismanagement error, lack of communication, system failure and/or poor standards of care.</li><li>Updates the M&M module in the Quality Information System (QIS). Liaises with HITA to refine M&M module in QIS and troubleshoot of the same.</li><li>Coordinates and participates in M&M Committees and taskforces as assigned to develop policy and system changes to be suggested to Medical Affairs. Follows up on recommendations made from such committees.</li><li>Performs clinical responsibilities within related specialty such as (Nursing, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, etc.) as assigned.</li><li>Networks with Quality Management, Patient Safety, Sentinel Events Committee and Patient Complaints regarding M&M cases.</li><li>Educates and trains staff regarding the M&M module in the QIS.</li><li>Collaborates with M&M to provide support and timely review of cases. Attends M&M Committees as requested.</li><li>Monitors and follows up on physician compliance with M&M timeline for reviews.</li><li>Participates in implementing quality management and quality improvement programs.</li><li>Participates and attends educational conferences as assigned.</li><li>Participates in research and the preparation of appropriate case studies for publication.</li><li>Provides leadership in encouraging supporting staff in reporting and reviewing of morbidities.</li><li>Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.</li><li>Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><h3>Job Requirements</h3><h3>Education:</h3><p>Master’s degree in quality management, Health Allied, Business Administration, or other related discipline is required or bachelor’s degree in nursing, Health Allied, Quality Management or other related discipline is required.</p><h3>Experience Required:</h3><p>Four (4) years of related experience with Master’s, or six (6) years of related experience with bachelor’s degree is required.</p><h3>Other Requirements/ Certifications</h3><ul><li>Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and /or Certified Professional Patient Safety (CPPS)</li><li>Quality, Data, or M&M related certifications (i.e. CPHRM, Lean Six Sigma (ASQ or equivalent), ISQUA)</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
