Job Description
Senior Consultant – Fire & Life SafetyWSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety to join our teams in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will lead the design of fire protection systems, conduct inspections, and perform risk assessments for major regional projects. This role requires close collaboration with clients, architects, and key stakeholders to ensure full compliance with local and international fire safety standards. Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 & SBC 801) is essential.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, suppression systems, and fire stopping solutions across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.Oversee fire protection design activities, ensuring compliance with Saudi and international codes, and conduct site inspections.Design fire alarm systems integrated within building designs and inspect installations during design and construction phases.Manage fire stopping audits and inspections, ensuring materials and assemblies meet fire safety requirements.Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.Supervise integrated testing and commissioning of fire and life safety systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.Provide technical expertise and address client requirements in a timely, professional manner.Drive fire and life safety aspects during design and delivery, providing proactive solutions.Mentor junior engineers and support innovation in fire safety practices.Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and regional engagements.Represent WSP at industry events to strengthen technical leadership and visibility.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields).3–8 years of experience in fire and life safety engineering.Strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 & SBC 801) and international fire safety standards (NFPA, IBC, BS, etc.).Proven expertise in fire protection design, fire alarm systems, and risk assessments.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.Professional fire protection certifications (e.g., CFPS or equivalent) are an added advantage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
