Job Description Role Overview: As the Configuration Manager at Atlas Copco Group, you play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management System (CMS) and configuration management database (CMDB) in adherence to ITIL best practices. Your responsibilities include managing configuration items (CIs), assets, and services across their lifecycle to support stable and reliable IT service delivery within the organization. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain a comprehensive view of the IT landscape and enable effective decision-making and risk management through governance and policies. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and maintain the configuration management framework, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. - Establish standards for the identification, naming, classification, and relationship mapping of configuration items. - Integrate configuration management with other ITIL processes such as Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management. - Supervise the design, deployment, and maintenance of the CMDB platform and support tools. - Drive validation and auditing mechanisms to maintain high data accuracy, completeness, and integrity. - Define and refine CI classes, data models, and relationships fitting the evolving organizational landscape. Data Quality & Reporting: - Implement reconciliation cycles and data quality assessments to identify discrepancies and compliance issues. - Develop operational dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights on configuration item status and process performance. - Support analytical activities such as impact analysis, root cause determination, and change management planning through reliable CI information. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: - Work with technical and operational teams to ensure timely updates of CI data. - Review and validate all changes affecting configuration items. - Partner with Service Owners, Asset Managers, and stakeholders to maintain accurate service and asset mappings. Continuous Improvement: - Identify opportunities to automate discovery, reconciliation, and CMDB update processes. - Lead initiatives to improve usability, reliability, and strategic value of the CMDB. - Conduct training sessions and awareness programs on configuration management processes and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline. - 6 to 10 years of professional experience in IT configuration management or related roles. - Deep understanding of ITIL framework, particularly Configuration Management principles. - Expertise in managing CMDB tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management, or Cherwell. - Knowledge of IT infrastructure components and automated discovery tools. - Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills. - Customer-focused mindset with commitment to quality and service excellence.
