Clinical Resource Nurse-Nursing InformaticsAbu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesJob DescriptionJob PurposeThis role is responsible for the development and maintenance of a competency-based continuing education program that supports the nurses in all specialty areas towards improvement in clinical practice.ResponsibilitiesAssesses and identifies educational needs and develops educational programs accordinglyPerforms consistent, systematic evaluation of clinically based programs to determine if they meet staff needs and are responsive to department/organizational directionFormulates measurable performance criteria to assess nurses’ levels of competenceCollaborates with nursing staff and other disciplines in the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programsDemonstrates skill in adult education, group dynamics, curriculum development, communication, and teaching strategiesAssists nursing staff to integrate new knowledge and skill into their practice and ensures that competency is maintainedProvides specialty-specific orientation to relevant staff and participates in the organization’s orientation programs as requiredProvides bedside clinical consultations in the area of expertise/specialization.Leads the implementation of evidence-based practice and actively participates in research to promote clinical knowledge and a research-based clinical practice environmentEngages in health promotion activities in the organization and communityManages information technology to access, transmit and produce information as necessaryUtilizes information gained from program evaluation to determine future program directionsSSMC COMPLIANCE GUIDELINESCorresponding Activities performed by the roleComplying with Policies, Procedures, and Practices of the SSMC facilities and other regulatory requirementsComplying consistently with facility policies, procedures, and practices and ensuring alignment with SSMC facilities policiesCompleting and maintaining regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time framesMaintaining ConfidentialityMaintaining confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role in accordance with facility policyPromoting Customer Service standardsAssuming the role of a brand ambassador for the facility and promoting a customer-focused philosophy in dealing with any stakeholdersMaintaining positive and effective working relationships within the department/division and also with other departments/sections within the facilityPerforming any other duties as may be assigned relevant to the basic of the roleAdditional ResponsibilitiesParticipates in interdisciplinary teams and Performance Improvement Projects for evaluation and improvement of processes and clinical practiceMaintains contemporary knowledge of evidence-based practice relevant to the specialtyActs as a professional role model with regard to self-development and self-accountability by projecting the image of a self-directed learner and setting high personal work standardsMonitor clinical care to ensure clinical standards are met. Identify variances and initiate corrective measures, and this information shall be used for educational and bedside teachingMonitor staff performance, and provide regular constructive feedback, coaching guidance, and support to the team on the shift. Provide staff performance feedback to the managerAccountabilitiesMaintains accurate records of educational activity and reports as required.Supervises the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, evaluation of indicators, and reporting of outcomes and trends.Initiates action and reports to the appropriate manager, when staff behavior and/or performance do not meet professional standards.Demonstrates evidence of mandatory and unit-specific competencies completion, accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Units based on DOH and organization requirements, and ongoing professional development in leadership and management.QualificationsExperienceRequired:NLT 6 year’s clinical experience post qualification in an appropriate & relevant healthcare settings and Positive written references which must identify specific responsibilities as a clinical resource nurse.Desired:1 year as an educatorEducational QualificationRequired:Bachelor degree in nursing ORDegree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration) AND Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia AND valid/current national license.BLSDesired:MSc in nursing educationAbout UsAt SSMC, we firmly believe that the human touch is a fundamental part of care.
