Civil Inspector

Civil Inspector – Abu Dhabi, UAEWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will ensure construction activities meet quality, safety, and compliance standards through collaboration with project teams, contractors, and engineers.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents to ensure compliance with all requirements.Conduct thorough inspections of construction and subcontractor work to verify safe and workmanlike operations.Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization requirements according to project specifications.Maintain detailed knowledge of project drawings, specifications, health and safety measures, and updates.Monitor contractor compliance with contract standards and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.Maintain accurate records of contractor resources, including personnel and equipment allocation on a daily basis.Perform site supervision and inspections as required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).Liaise daily with contractors to ensure effective resource management, health and safety protocols, and equipment coordination on site.Prepare comprehensive daily reports for the RE or ARE documenting work orders, material deliveries, and inspection programs.Implement and follow up on all site instructions issued by the RE and ARE in a timely and efficient manner.Apply and enforce all quality control procedures and quality assurance protocols established for the project.Conduct site measurements and surveying checks as needed by the RE or ARE for pipe alignments, levels, and other critical dimensions.Coordinate and cooperate with client project managers during site inspections in collaboration with the RE or ARE.Assist the ARE and RE in preparing correspondence that complies with contract documents and site requirements.Work collaboratively with the RE or ARE to identify and resolve site problems promptly and effectively.Monitor project start-up, commissioning, and handover activities while maintaining detailed records of project milestones.Maintain comprehensive records of all materials testing and executed work for project documentation.Conduct audit inspections to verify conformity to contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in similar construction projects.Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the United Arab Emirates.Proven experience in infrastructure and roads projects comparable to the role requirements.Demonstrated expertise in site inspection, supervision, and construction monitoring.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical drawings and contract documents.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.Proficiency in documentation and record‑keeping.Competency in surveying, measurement, and alignment verification.Knowledge of health and safety compliance standards and procedures.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Strong time management and efficiency in completing tasks.Job DetailsRole Level: AssociateWork Type: Full‑TimeCountry: United Arab EmiratesCity: Abu DhabiCompany Website: http://www.aecom.comJob Function: Strategy & PlanningCompany Industry: IT Services and IT Consulting and Software DevelopmentSector: IT Services and IT Consulting and Software DevelopmentEEO StatementAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
