Job DescriptionCivil QS Engineer works with the Technical Department to perform accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and material analyses for civil and architectural works. The role ensures optimized project costs, accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and compliance with project drawings, specifications, and standards through effective coordination with design, planning, and procurement teams.Key Accountability AreasPrepare detailed quantity take-offs for all civil and architectural elements using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.Develop, verify, and update BOQs in accordance with tender, shop, and IFC drawings, as well as applicable codes and standards.Ensure measurement accuracy and consistency across all project documents and revisions.Review and assess design changes, updating quantities and associated cost impacts as required.Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, rate analyses, and budget breakdowns for civil and architectural works.Coordinate with the procurement team to validate material quantities and support tender evaluations and comparisons.Collaborate with design, planning, and site teams to verify quantities, resolve discrepancies, and support design coordination.Provide technical support on quantity and cost-related matters during design development, tendering, and construction phases.Maintain organized and updated records of drawings, take-off sheets, and BOQs.Develop and maintain Excel-based tools and templates for cost control, material tracking, and progress measurement.Ensure all documentation and deliverables comply with company standards and project requirements.Role AccountabilityHR ProficiencyAbility to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the jobTo have a vision and a plan for the career path and how to achieve it.DeliveryPerform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.Problem-SolvingSolve any related problems arise and elevate any complex operational issues.QualityEnsure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.Business Process ImprovementsCoordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.ComplianceComply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.Health, Safety, and EnvironmentEnsure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.Academic QualificationBachelor Degree in Surveying & Mapping Sciences or Civil Engineering Work Experience 5 to 10 Years Technical / Functional Competencies Cost Estimating Construction Engineering Procurement ReportingProfile descriptionAlfanar is a Saudi company with an international presence, primarily engaged in the manufacturing and trading of a wide variety of low, medium, and high voltage electrical products, in addition to its portfolio of conventional and renewable energy solutions, oil and gas, water treatment, infrastructure, technical services, and digital solutions.The hub of alfanar’s manufacturing operations is Medinet alfanar Alsinaiya, a 700,000 square-meter complex located in Riyadh.
