Category Specialist

We are looking to hire a Category Specialist who will be responsible for support execution of strategic and operational sourcing initiatives. He will support Category Manager across thestrategic sourcing cycle, help in gathering and collating supply market information, preparing RFP documents, collate clarifications from suppliers. They will also co-lead the tactical sourcing/ spot buys with Category Manager our client based Dubai- which is one of the largest companies in the region.This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and is renewableThe role sits within the Supply Management dept and reports directly to the Senior Category Specialist.Key responsibilities:Support Category L3 and Category L4 resources in executing category sourcing initiatives by compiling supply market information, preparingRFP documents, collating clarifications from supplier to enable timely and efficient execution of strategic sourcing process.Execute tactical sourcing/ spot buys with minimal support of Category Managers for purchases of AED 5k and below, ensure compliance toPR to PO cycle time, tactical sourcing process and on time delivery KPI’sRecommend suppliers based on the evaluations and negotiations for tactical purchases and submit for approval as per delegation ofauthorityNegotiate with suppliers and obtain approval of finalized contracts / purchase orders as per the approved delegation of authoritySet up contracts and Complex PO for strategic sourcing initiatives (as required) in OracleRelease PO for operational sourcing and expedite deliveryThe job holder will have knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle), and Advanced Excel.
