Job Description

Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate reliable and professional caregiver to join our team and provide high-quality person-centred support to clients in their homes or in community settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities promote independence and create a safe respectful and positive environment for those in their care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide personal care including assistance with bathing dressing toileting and grooming in a dignified and respectful mannerSupport clients with mobility needs including safe transfers use of mobility aids and encouragement of independenceAssist with medication prompts and administration of medicines where appropriate and in line with care plans and local regulationsPlan and prepare nutritious meals accommodate dietary requirements and assist with feeding if requiredSupport with household tasks such as laundry light cleaning shopping and collecting prescriptions to maintain a safe living environmentProvide companionship and emotional support encouraging social engagement and meaningful activitiesObserve and monitor clients health and wellbeing record changes and promptly report concerns to the care manager or healthcare professionalsFollow and contribute to individual care plans risk assessments and support plans ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to dateMaintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies health and safety procedures and infection control standardsCommunicate effectively with clients families colleagues and external professionals to coordinate careAttend team meetings training and supervision to maintain and develop skills and knowledgeRequired QualificationsRelevant qualification in health and social care (e.g. NVQ/VRQ Level 2 or 3) or equivalent experience preferredProven experience in a caregiving or support worker role or demonstrable transferable experienceUnderstanding of person-centred care principles safeguarding and infection controlGood verbal and written communication skills and the ability to complete accurate recordsAbility to work independently and as part of a team showing reliability and flexibility with working hoursBasic numeracy and literacy skills; proficiency with mobile devices or digital care recording systems is desirableFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required for some roles (where applicable)Desirable AttributesEmpathy patience and a respectful attitude towards people from diverse backgroundsAbility to adapt to changing needs and manage challenging situations calmlyWillingness to undertake training and development including mandatory certificationsPrevious experience supporting people with dementia long-term conditions or disabilities is an advantageWorking ConditionsFlexible shifts including mornings evenings weekends and bank holidays depending on service needsTravel between clients homes may be required; mileage allowance provided where applicableRole may involve physical activity such as assisting with mobility and moving equipment Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
