Boat Service Manager

OverviewWe are looking for a knowledgeable and highly organized Boat Service Manager to lead and oversee our service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine maintenance and repair, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role is responsible for managing the service team, scheduling and coordinating repairs, maintaining quality control and ensuring timely service delivery.ResponsibilitiesOversee all operations within the boat service department including maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and inspections.Lead, train and motivate a team of marine technicians, mechanics and support staff.Schedule and prioritize service work based on urgency, availability and customer commitments.Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards, safety regulations and company policies.Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, timelines and updates.Manage inventory of parts, tools and equipment, coordinating with suppliers and parts departments.Maintain detailed service records, invoices and work orders using service management software.Monitor department performance metrics such as turnaround time, customer satisfaction and service revenue.Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.Stay updated on the latest marine technologies, manufacturer guidelines and compliance regulations.Collaborate with sales and warranty departments to ensure smooth transitions and post-sale service.QualificationsProven experience in marine service management or similar technical leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, hull maintenance and diagnostics.Excellent leadership, communication and team management skills.Customer-focused with a commitment to high-quality service.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.Proficiency in service management or dealership software (e.g. DockMaster, Lightspeed or similar).Certifications from marine manufacturers (e.g. Yamaha, Mercury, Volvo Penta) are a plus.Valid driver's license (and boating license if applicable).#J-18808-Ljbffr
