The role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and collaboration skills to drive cross-functional AI initiatives and coordinate with stakeholders across business lines, technology, and support functions.The AVP will often operate as project lead for specific initiatives or workstreams with stakeholders across Business Lines, Group Technology, DAAI, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Audit, GCOO and vendors to drive AI automation priorities, intelligent process redesign, and governance. This is an execution-focused role; tangible results in adoption, ROI, scalability, and risk mitigation will be key in defining success.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the VP, the AVP AI Automation plays a pivotal role in driving end-to-end change through process reengineering, automation, and efficiency improvements. He/She will lead multiple AI initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure the successful execution of initiatives that align with the bank's strategic objectives.AI-enabled Service Journey ReimaginationSupport the redesign and governance of client and operational service journeys through AI-driven automationSupport end-to-end optimization by embedding machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and intelligent process automation solutions.Service Delivery & Performance ManagementEnsure delivery and scalability of AI automation initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teamsTrack, analyze, and report performance across KPIs such as adoption, ROI, scalability, client experience, and risk.Stakeholder Engagement & Change LeadershipSupport VP with key stakeholders across business domains to align on service priorities and drive change. Champion a culture of agile delivery, innovation, and responsible AI adoption. Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter) is desirable.Continuous Improvement & Innovation:Identify opportunities for ongoing process improvement and innovation and align with AI automation priorities. Contribute to the adoption of structured toolkits, playbooks, and frameworks for consistent service delivery.Reporting & CommunicationPrepare materials for governance forums, ExCo-X, and GCOO meetingsConsolidate updates, risks, and key issues for escalation to senior managementQualificationsAn ideal candidate for the role has the following competencies:Strong delivery mindset: Demonstrated ability to contribute to AI and automation initiatives within Financial Services and/or large corporate institutions. Experience in owning workstreams or projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliveryCross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively across business, digital, operations, and data/technology teams to deliver AI solutions.Analytical skills:Strong understanding of AI/ML models, RPA, NLP, and intelligent automation tools, with the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.Communication skills:Ability to convey AI opportunities, problem statements and opportunity cases to gain buy-in from stakeholders across the organization. Good communicator with very high awareness about stakeholder’s standpoint, who can formulate messaging accordingly. Capable of building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders at and above his/her level.Results-orientated and hands-on delivery: Track record of delivering measurable value through automation and AI initiativesTeam contribution and coordination:Experience in supporting or coordinating teams, with exposure to both agile and conventional delivery models. May take on temporary leadership of small project teams or analystsBanking & Technologic knowledge: Solid understanding of banking products, operations, and regulations, with proven ability to leverage digital and AI technologiesProfessional certifications AI/ML, Data Science, RPA/automation tools, project management (PMP, Prince2), Agile, or change management are highly desirable.An ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:Proven track record of leading successful AI automation or digital transformation initiativesBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
