Job Description

ResponsibilitiesStrategic Role - Develop and implement SIS governance frameworks aligned with institutional strategy and academic policies.Ensure SIS configuration supports approved academic structures, study plans, grading schemes, and progression frameworks.Ensure compliance with UAE MOE/MOHESR regulations, accreditation standards, and internal governance requirements.Lead system optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and student experience.Provide analytical insights and reports to support institutional planning and decision-making.Advise the Registrar on system risks, data integrity concerns, and compliance matters.Core CompetencyOversee the daily administration and functional management of the Student Information System (SIS).Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of:Academic programs and study plansCourse catalog and curriculum structuresRegistration rules and prerequisitesAcademic standing rules and GPA calculationsDegree audit configurationsGraduation eligibility workflowsMonitor system data integrity and conduct regular audits of academic and student records.Ensure timely processing of academic cycles, including registration, grading, progression, and graduation.Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls in coordination with IT and data protection policies.Oversee system configuration for academic calendar, term rollovers, and catalog updates.Resolve complex system-related academic record discrepancies and escalation cases.Maintain documentation of SIS workflows, configuration standards, and user manuals.Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure SIS data aligns with approved academic policies and Academic Council decisions.Lead internal audits related to student records, curriculum integrity, and graduation certification.Support external audits, accreditation reviews, and regulatory reporting.Ensure data protection compliance in accordance with UAE regulations and institutional confidentiality policies.Monitor accuracy of graduation approvals and academic eligibility validations.Lead SIS enhancement projects, upgrades, integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.Collaborate with IT on system architecture, automation, and interface development (e.g., LMS, finance, HR systems).Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates and new modules.Track project timelines, risks, and deliverables, escalating issues to the Registrar when necessary.Coordinate cross-functional working groups to implement new SIS features and process improvements.Support dashboard development and advanced reporting capabilities with Institutional Research.Stakeholder Engagement & TrainingServe as functional lead and subject matter expert (SME) for SIS across campuses.Provide training and guidance to registration, academic services, and faculty users.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.ExperienceMinimum of 7–9 years of experience in Student Information Systems, academic records management, or enterprise system administration within higher education, preferably in the UAE or GCC.#J-18808-Ljbffr
