Job Description
JOB SUMMARYThis is a physician position and is responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses for patients within the Integrated Hospital Care Institute – Emergency Medicine specialty at CCAD. Under the supervision and guidance of a consultant physician, this position treats patients directly and/or may make referrals to different members of the health care professional team at CCAD.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMonitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within the Emergency Medicine specialtyPrescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injuryAnalyzes records, reports and test results to diagnose patient’s medical conditionInteracts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical conditionExplains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patientProvides specific treatments and/or performs operations to treat patient medical conditionsEvaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient’s condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and/or a possible referral to another member of the health care professional teamLiaisons with other medical and non‑medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatmentPerforms surgical procedures and operations as appropriateSupplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive mannerTakes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment, such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measuresProvides hospital on‑call inpatient coverage as deemed necessaryFollows ethical and regulatory guidelinesAdheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Physician StaffEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSFor Associate Staff (Specialist) holding qualifications listed as Tier 2 or Tier 3, a minimum of three years of clinical experience is required.Ability to speak and write in English is required.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSMD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent basic medical degreeCompletion of a recognized Emergency Medicine qualification from countries listed in the DOH PQR https://www.doh.gov.ae/en/pqrABOUT THE HOSPITALCleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, located on Al Maryah Island, offers advanced tertiary medical services across a spectrum of specialties and sub‑specialties.
