Assistant Resident Engineer

The Assistant Resident Engineer will be associated with the AECOMs construction supervision discipline engineers independently or under the direction of the Resident Engineer advising on all engineering matters related to the wet utilities/works construction relevant.Job DutiesReview of Inspectors Daily ReportsGeneral oversight of Inspectors daily activities including works assignments onsite performance and guidance on the supervision of the Contractors operationsReview and Comment/Approve of the Contractors Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident EngineerReview and assist the Resident Engineer to provide approvals/comments to the Contractors technical submittals (Method Statement Material shop drawings ... etc.) as delegated by the Resident EngineerCoordination with Contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule sequence and method of workReview the asbuilt drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyorsWitness the laboratory tests and verify test results.Report nonconformances by the Contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scope of servicesAssist in punch list preparationCoordinate field inspections.Be an active member of the project leadership team including interaction with the Client.Set manage and control delivery of all contract elements and objectives including scope quality budgets schedules stakeholder interfaces Communication /reporting environmental and Health and Safety.Clearly convey instructions to staff members in order to achieve the project goals.Maintain the RE informed of all developments which may affect the project so that these can be dealt with immediately.Must be technically sound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelize and solve problems expeditiously.Take the required measures to identify slippage in the Contractors activities early so that immediate recovery actions can be taken by the contractor.Use extensive relevant construction experience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems before they arise.Portray strong leadership skills which promote mutual respect both from the AECOM Construction Management staff as well as the Contractor.Ensure high quality of works during the construction period strict compliance with the Employers Requirements Projects Specifications and Safety RequirementsAssessment of the Contractors compliance to the quality management System as specified in the latest applicable standards.Review of Contractors Design for compliance with Employers Requirements Authority Requirements EndUser Requirements and Local and International Standards.Review and provide necessary comments/approval to the Contractors technical submittals including but not limited to calculations drawings material etc.Submit to the Resident Engineer daily weekly reports with details of the progress of fabrication construction testing of components parts and assemblies and status of materials procurement. Any nonconformity and malpractice found shall also be reported.Evaluate Contractors personnel equipment materials and subcontractorsMonitor progress of all project participants.Participate in project construction meetings.Perform claims analysis and maintain a project claims file.Assist in resolution of construction problems.Analyze value engineering proposals.Prepare nonconformance report to the contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scope of servicesQualificationsMinimum QualificationBachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field ( Civil etc.)ExperienceMinimum 12 years of related Construction Supervision / Management experience on projects with a broad general engineering background. 8 years of experience in infrastructure project and 3 years UAE experienceMust have worked on projects in the capacity of a Senior Engineer and / or Assistant Resident Engineer as a minimum.Remote WorkNoEmployment TypeFulltimeEqual Opportunity EmployerAs an Equal Opportunity Employer we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
