<div><h3>Job Description</h3><p>GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to join the Secondary leadership team this academic year.</p><p>As Secondary Assistant Principal, you will support the vision, core values, mission, aims and policies of the school. You will support and develop the effective leadership and management of the school whilst ensuring the highest possible standards of teaching, learning, curriculum, student achievement and pastoral care in the secondary team.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Play an active role in school strategic planning and school self-review.</li><li>Be responsible for leading, developing and managing teaching and learning, the curriculum, target‑setting, assessment, tracking, recording and reporting across the secondary team.</li><li>Take a significant lead in developing the curriculum within the secondary team in conjunction with senior and middle leaders and all teaching staff.</li><li>Lead, alongside members of the senior leadership team, target‑setting, assessment and tracking data within the secondary team.</li><li>Have accountability for the standards of attainment, progress, achievement and behaviour within the secondary team, to monitor and evaluate the progress made in these areas and determine further actions for improvement.</li><li>Have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and Supplement, UAE Vision 2021 and National Agenda and use these to support leadership and management in the secondary team.</li></ul><h3>Skills</h3><ul><li>Bachelor degree and Qualified Teacher Status.</li><li>Accredited leadership qualification or enrolled on a leadership development course.</li><li>Proven skills in change leadership and innovation.</li><li>Commitment to promote and support the vision, values and ethos of the School.</li><li>Evidence of significant and continued professional development.</li><li>Evidence of innovation leading to raised standards and improved student and staff motivation.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of competency‑led curriculum frameworks.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of what constitutes high‑quality educational provision and how to secure it within the school.</li><li>Evidence of successful delivery against targets.</li><li>Possess drive, enthusiasm, determination and boundless energy to improve the life chances and experiences of students.</li><li>Generate high expectations, enthusiasm and commitment from staff.</li><li>Lead careers and future skills, education across the school.</li><li>Coordinate Parent Partnerships and Communication.</li><li>Line management of Heads of Department.</li></ul><p><b>GEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff.
