Job Description Role Overview:
As the Assistant Manager R2R Operations at Unilever, you will be responsible for leading the Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Control compliance for Bangladesh. Your role will involve managing the end-to-end processes of the service, driving continuous improvement, ensuring discipline across the 3 Tiers, and overseeing Cost savings and Control projects within the scope. Additionally, you will act as the Lease Accounting (IFRS 16) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all markets in the erstwhile South Asia cluster. You will lead the R2R team based in Bangalore at the 3PSP organization and collaborate closely with Market key Finance stakeholders, especially country controllers. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with senior leaders of Unilever Finance, in-market Controllers, GCAD, and various service-lines within ComEx.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the end-to-end financial accounting reporting & control compliance for the countries serviced.
- Motivate the team to perform at high standards and provide subject matter expertise for specific country skills related to language or accounting knowledge.
- Review consolidated financial statements and reports in accordance with Global-GCAD requirements.
- Ensure proper application of accounting rules for both management and financial accounts in compliance with corporate standards.
- Act as the steward of the Balance Sheet following IFRS guidelines.
- Participate in country meetings with non-Finance stakeholders to streamline processes across business operations.
- Coordinate external audits with designated auditors.
- Act as the primary Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to Market Finance Controller.
- Serve as a backup to other members within Market Operations team RTR.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors Degree with 3 to 5 years of work experience in Financial Accounting & Reporting under a GBS setup.
- Strong Financial Accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS.
- External Auditor experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of key Finance processes in the R2R area.
- Experience in a similar role in a shared service center or local accounting team.
- Key Skills required include effective written and oral communication in English.
- Ability to apply qualified knowledge in accounting provisions, principles, preparation, audit, and disclosure requirements to make appropriate judgments and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret problems/data from various sources.
