GEMS FirstPoint School is seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Head Teacher (Primary) to join our high-performing Primary leadership team from August 2026.This is an exciting leadership opportunity within a large, premium-tier British curriculum school, rated Outstanding by BSO and Very Good by KHDA. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum development, and pupil outcomes across the Primary phase (EYFS–Year 6).This is a versatile leadership role, and the specific portfolio of responsibilities will be shaped around the strengths and expertise of the successful candidate. It is ideally suited to a highly capable and knowledgeable Primary leader who is ready to make a measurable impact across pedagogy, curriculum, and data-informed school improvement.The role combines strategic leadership with a strong classroom presence.Key prioritiesTeaching and learningLead and develop high-quality teaching and learning across the Primary phaseEmbed research-informed, evidence-led practice in classroomsPromote adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learnersDrive excellence across all curriculum areasCurriculum and innovationContribute to curriculum design, review, and refinement across EYFS, KS1, and KS2Ensure strong progression, challenge, and alignment with the National Curriculum and MOE subjectsSupport subject and phase leaders in curriculum implementation and evaluation of impactAssessment and dataUse data and tracking systems to monitor progress and identify trendsLead and support student progress meetings and intervention planningContribute to the strategic development of whole-school assessment, feedback, and reporting frameworksEnsure assessment is used effectively to inform teaching and secure strong pupil outcomesQuality assurance and accountabilityMonitor, evaluate, and quality assure academic provision across the Primary phaseConduct learning walks, book looks, moderation, and professional coaching conversationsSupport and challenge middle leaders to secure consistently strong outcomesContribute to the development and implementation of the Primary School Improvement PlanStaff development and cultureSupport professional development and instructional coaching across the Primary phaseModel excellent classroom practiceHold colleagues to account with clarity, integrity, and professionalismPromote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvementSkillsPerson specificationA well-read, research-informed practitioner who can translate evidence into effective classroom practiceStrong curriculum and pedagogical understanding across the Primary phaseProven record of securing strong pupil outcomes through effective leadershipStrong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, progress tracking, and action planningExperience leading or contributing to school improvement initiativesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with evidence-informed approaches such as Rosenshine’s Principles and instructional coaching is desirableExperience with inspection or accreditation frameworks such as BSO or KHDA is advantageousGEMS FirstPoint School offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where high expectations, innovation, and professional growth are valued.
