Assistant / Associate/Professor – Environmental Health Specialist

Job OverviewThe Institute of Public Health (IPH) at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, is seeking to appoint a full‑time faculty member to contribute to its teaching and research activities in Environmental Health.Applicants should have a track record in teaching environmental health at the undergraduate and graduate level, including designing curricula, overseeing courses and supervising student projects. Experience with teaching environment, health and safety or occupational health is an advantage. The successful candidate will contribute to programs of undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the MPH and PhD programs as well as professional training. The IPH has a thriving graduate teaching program and currently has 25 PhD students and 55 MPH students. Academic rank will be commensurate to qualifications. Furthermore, the candidate should be accomplished in conducting and supervising research projects and be expected to publish research findings in peer‑reviewed international scientific journals. A key requirement is the ability to serve as the principal investigator in research projects relevant to environmental health. Experience with laboratory work related to environmental health is strongly preferred. Particular skills in developing strong links with other educational establishments, health authorities, government agencies and other institutions in the UAE and the wider region will be considered an important qualification. Experience in international collaboration is preferred. The successful candidate will also share administrative work in the IPH and the College of Medicine including serving on committees, invigilating examinations and contributing to student assessments.ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate, graduate, MPH and PhD courses; design curricula, oversee courses, and supervise student projects.Conduct and supervise research projects, serve as principal investigator in environmental health projects.Engage in laboratory work related to environmental health.Build collaborations with educational establishments, health authorities, government agencies, and regional institutions.Participate in administrative duties: committees, exam invigilation, and student assessments.QualificationsDoctoral degree in Environmental Health or a relevant scientific field from an accredited university.Academic teaching and research experience in environmental health.Preferred QualificationsExperience in occupational health, environment, or health and safety.Laboratory work experience related to environmental health.Ability to collaborate with local and regional institutions and international partners.Fluency in English; additional knowledge of Arabic, Urdu/Hindi or other languages is an advantage.SkillsAbility to work independently and take academic initiatives.Awareness of cultural, privacy, and confidentiality issues.Good team‑working skills and flexibility with working hours.Fluency in English; additional languages optional.Open until filled.#J-18808-Ljbffr
