Driven by our purpose, to safeguard life, property, and the environment, we empower our customers and their stakeholders with facts and reliable insights so that critical decisions can be made with confidence.As a trusted voice for many of the world’s most successful organizations, we use our knowledge to advance safety and performance, set industry benchmarks, and inspire and invent solutions to tackle global transformations.About The RoleThe Area Operations Manager – UOQ is responsible for leading the operational performance, delivery excellence, and business support across UAE, Oman and Qatar, one of the most active regions for CAPEX and OPEX-driven inspection services.The role holds full accountability for P&L performance, delivery execution, and resource management across the area, managing a layered organisation with Country Operations Managers and large field-based teams.Operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, the role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of site-based and vendor inspection services, while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including NOCs, IOCs, EPC contractors, and manufacturers.Key ResponsibilitiesArea Leadership & P&L AccountabilityOwn and manage P&L performance across UAE, Oman and Qatar, including revenue, margins, utilisation, and working capital.Provide leadership to Country Operations Managers and ensure alignment across all operations in the area.Drive operational performance in line with regional and global targets.Ensure visibility and control of delivery risks impacting financial and operational outcomes.Operational Delivery (High-Volume Execution)Lead delivery of site-based and vendor inspection services across CAPEX and OPEX projects.Oversee execution across multiple concurrent projects including construction, commissioning, in-service inspection, and lifting operations.Ensure consistent application of delivery standards, safety practices, and quality requirements.Manage escalations, delivery risks, and client expectations across the region.Resource & Workforce ManagementOversee mobilisation and deployment of a large inspector workforce across multiple sites and countries.Ensure optimal utilisation, rotation planning, and rapid mobilisation capability.Support Country Managers in managing workforce capacity and addressing resource constraints.Drive workforce engagement, performance, and retention in a demanding operational environment.Client Engagement & Market SupportMaintain strong operational relationships with key clients including NOCs, IOCs, EPC contractors, and manufacturers.Support business development activities and major tenders with execution planning and resource input.Identify opportunities to expand services across CAPEX and OPEX environments.Ensure high client satisfaction through responsiveness and reliable delivery.Facilitate and lead portfolio diversification across the region by ensuring operational readiness, capability development, and resource alignment to support execution of new services and sector opportunities.Delivery Performance & Operational ExcellenceDrive standardisation of delivery processes and implementation of global frameworks.Improve operational efficiency, coordination, and execution discipline across the area.Strengthen visibility of performance through structured reporting and delivery routines.Promote continuous improvement across site and vendor inspection activities.Financial Control & Working CapitalEnsure timely invoicing, revenue recognition, and cost control across projects.Monitor and manage working capital indicators, including WIP, billing, and collections.Support soft-closing processes and provide early visibility of financial risks.Align operational execution with financial performance targets.Global Alignment & CollaborationEnsure alignment with global delivery frameworks, technical standards, and digital tools.Collaborate with PMO, SMEs, and AI/Innovation functions to strengthen execution capability.Support implementation of global initiatives within the region.What We OfferDNV is an independent global assurance and risk management company headquartered in Norway, with a heritage dating back to 1864 and operations in more than 100 countries.
