Job Description

Title: Adjunct Lecturer for Web Analytics(Media)College/School: School of Arts- Media & CommunicationReports to: The Dean & Discipline LeadOverview and Objectives of the PositionLecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high-quality learning experiences to a diverse cohort of undergraduate students. Responsibilities include delivering lectures and tutorials, marking assessments, and supporting students in achieving strong academic outcomes.This unit is designed to develop students’ understanding of web analytics and its role in modern communication strategy. Students will learn how to collect and analyse web data, apply insights to communication planning, and understand ethical considerations related to digital data use.We are seeking experienced industry professionals with strong practical knowledge in digital marketing, digital communications, public relations, or web strategy. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Google Analytics and the ability to connect theory with real‑world industry examples in a clear and engaging manner.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging, industry-informed lectures and/or tutorialsConnect theory to current industry practice using relevant local case studiesGuide students in analysing and applying web analytics in communication strategyWork collaboratively with the Unit CoordinatorUtilise university systems including Moodle and UrkundUndertake required institutional trainingRequired QualificationsMinimum 4-year Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent industry experienceRelevant Master’s Degree (desirable)Teaching ExperienceMinimum 2+ years teaching experience in public relations, communications, or digital marketing units (university-level)Demonstrated ability to translate academic theory into applied industry practiceIndustry ExperienceMinimum 5+ years professional experience in digital communications, digital marketing, PR, web strategy or social media strategySenior web communications professionals highly regardedExperience within creative digital agencies is advantageousStrong working knowledge of Google AnalyticsCurrent, active experience in digital/web communications is essentialKnowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of qualitative and quantitative web dataAbility to design and guide students in developing communication plans using web dataKnowledge of privacy, surveillance and ethical considerations in digital dataFamiliarity with the local digital marketing and communications industryHigh‑level critical and creative thinkingLearning OutcomesOn successful completion of the unit, students will be able to:Find and classify qualitative and quantitative web dataUse web data to research, design and build a communication planIdentify privacy, surveillance and ethical concerns in web data usageAnalyse the broader social context of web data setsApply critical and creative thinking to complex online communication scenarios#J-18808-Ljbffr
