Job Description

OverviewJOB PURPOSE: To provide senior leadership and strategic oversight of the organization's accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and full regulatory compliance. The Associate Director of Accounting plays a key role in financial governance, process optimization, and supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality accounting practices.ResponsibilitiesFoster a culture of accountability while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirementsEstablish performance metrics and objectives for teamsLead the accounting function, supervising teams responsible for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assetsOversee the preparation, review, and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standardsEstablish and maintain robust internal control frameworks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readinessDefine accounting policies, procedures, and governance standards to support organizational transparency and accountabilityImplement and continuously improve accounting systems, workflows, and automation tools for greater efficiency and accuracyOversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reportingDevelop and document best practices to maintain consistency across accounting operationsEnsure cross-functional alignment between accounting, FP&A, procurement, and operational teamsEnsure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standardsLead coordination with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and resolving audit findingsMonitor financial risks and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and control environmentsQualifications9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including supervisory or managerial experiencePossess professional qualification like ACCA, CMA, CPA, or CABachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit managementProven track record in improving accounting processes and systems#J-18808-Ljbffr
