Job Description

Manage overall operations and isresponsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity,quality control and safety measures as established and set for the OperationsDepartment.Ensure safe and efficient operations.Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operationalprocedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow andmanagement, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks foropportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities inaccordance with company's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities may include interviewing,selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigningand directing work; authoring and discussing with employees performanceappraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans;employee motivation and rewards. Organizing the budget of the company incollaboration with the director.Requires a bachelor's degree in area ofspecialty and 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Relyon extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform avariety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree ofcreativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.Directly manages and directs Operational staff.ResponsibilitiesRecruit, select, train, assign, schedule,coach, counsel and discipline employeesCommunicate job expectations; planning,monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributionsPlan and review compensation actions;enforcing policies and proceduresContribute operations information andrecommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete actionplans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-servicestandards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trendsForecast requirements; prepare an annualbudget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actionsDevelop operations systems by determiningproduct handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce andevaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipmentutilization, inventory management and shippingAnalyze process workflow, employee andspace requirements and equipment layout; implement changesMaintain safe and healthy work environmentby establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complyingwith legal regulationsUpdate job knowledge by participating ineducational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintainingpersonal networks; participating in professional organizationsAccomplish operations and organization missionby completing related results as neededManage staff levels, wages, hours,contract labor to revenuesResponsible for all department managersand supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operationsemployeesRun a safe, injury/accident free workplaceResponsible for all aspects of vehicle andheavy equipment rentalsEstablish contracts and pricing andensuring proper maintenance and serving as primary liaison with utilities andlocal government agencies, such as fire, police, health and safety agenciesManage relationships with key operationsvendorsTrack vendor pricing, rebates and servicelevelsReview and approve all operationalinvoices and ensure they are submitted for paymentServe as primary point of contact whenthere are customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, oraccidents and mishaps on-site.
