Sr. Project Specialist-Mandarin Spreaker (Contract Based)

Company: EDGE Group PJSCLocation: ARE, AESr. Project Specialist (Grade 7)The Senior Project Specialist supports the planning and execution of multiple defense projects through all phases of delivery within specified budgets and timelines. The role contributes to resource planning, financial tracking, milestone management, and effective stakeholder communication. A key focus will be on cross-functional collaboration, including support for Chinese-speaking counterparts and China office operations, to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution – Contribute to the development of detailed project plans by defining scope, resources, timelines, and estimated costs in line with objectives. Support project delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with established standards.Monitoring & Reporting – Use project tools (SAP, Microsoft Project, dashboards, and reports) to track milestones, budgets, and KPIs. Prepare progress updates, technical briefs, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.Financial Support – Assist in budget preparation and tracking, monitor expenses, and provide cost-benefit analyses. Highlight variances and recommend areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.Risk & Issue Management – Help identify, elevate, and support the resolution of risks and issues by coordinating with cross-functional teams and facilitating decision-making.Cross-Functional Collaboration – Coordinate activities across R&D, engineering, manufacturing, commercial, procurement, and other functions to ensure alignment of priorities and resources.Technical & China-Focused Support –Serve as a liaison between internal technical teams and Chinese-speaking stakeholders, ensuring accurate translation and understanding of complex technical/scientific concepts.Support China office operations, including supplier engagement, technical evaluations, and coordination of technology-related initiatives.Track milestones for projects involving advanced technologies, engineering solutions, or scientific research, ensuring deliverables meet technical requirements.Support relationships with technology partners, suppliers, and research institutes in the hard sciences sector.Customer & Stakeholder Engagement – Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. Gather and share feedback to improve customer experience, streamline processes, and enhance results.Continuous Improvement – Participate in project reviews, capture lessons learned, and recommend enhancements for future projects and processes.Experience & QualificationsBachelor Degree in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience.Professional certification preferred (e.g. PMI, PMP, APM).7+ years of experience in Project Management, including at least 3 years in defense, aerospace, or advanced technology sectors with exposure to international programs.Strong background in Stakeholder management and conflict resolution.Proficiency in MS Project, SAP and cost control systems.Experience with complex, export-controlled international projects and global supply chainsProficiency in the English and Chinese (Mandarin) language is a must#J-18808-Ljbffr
