Ship Repair Mechanic

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities.Must have an understanding of various mechanical equipments such as pumps motors ICengines (marine)Valves and Hydraulics.Must have the ability to demonstrate understanding of motors operations and capability to repairand install the motors.Must have knowledge of mechanical pumps and their flow ratings & capacities and must be ableto understand the mounting drawings along with the ability to repair install and operate them.Must have the capability to repair install and operate various mechanical valves and theassociated hydraulic systems.Must have the ability to perform service/ overhaul of various Internal Combustion Engines relatedto the marine industry as per the guidelines of the OEM.Must have the ability to trouble shooting and commissioning on other mechanical equipments asper the OEM standards.Must have the ability to interpret OEM drawings and diagrams and have a basic idea of thetolerance charts.Must be able to use and interpret readings from various measuring equipments and tools as maybe used from time to time.Must have the skill to use spanners hydraulic jacks hydraulic pumps and other equipements thatmay be needed for the job.Must comply with the HSE guidelines and work under the framework as set by the company andthe superiors.Scope of work for 2 stroke & 4 stroke engine overhauling.Disassembling / overhauling of exhaust valve housing.Servicing / overhauling of stuffing box.Inspection of Main / cross head bearings.Testing of pistons.Removal of liners / jackets.Servicing of lubricators.Servicing of M/E fuel injectors / pumps.Inspection of timing gears.Overhauling of roller guide assembly.deflection gauge.Person ProfileEducation Qualification ITI qualified with diploma holder being preferred along with certificate coursein Engine operations or Hydraulic equipments.Experience required: Previous experience of 3 to 5 years in a ship repair company in a similar capacitywill be preferred with knowledge of various marine mechanical components as listed above.Experience in Man B&W MTU MAK DAIHATSU PEILSTICK SULZER YANMAR MWMCATERPILLAR ANS ZSPR ENGINES Dismantle/Clean/Overhaul/Box up/Test with knowledge ofprocedures and sequence preferredExperience in single two stage multistage pumps Dismantle/Clean/Overhaul/Box up/Test withknowledge of procedures and sequence preferred.#J-18808-Ljbffr
