Job Description

The Senior Welding Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient and high-quality welding of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, skids, tanks, and structural components. The role involves developing welding procedures, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and customer standards, and providing technical support throughout project execution and bidding stages.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and qualify WPS/PQR in line with ASME codes and client specifications, and obtain necessary approvals.Conduct training and qualification of welders as per project and code requirements.Liaise with customers and ASME Authorized Inspectors (AI) on all welding-related matters.Develop and implement best practices to optimize welding processes and improve efficiency.Handle estimation and material requisition (MR) for welding consumables with proper technical specifications.Monitor and control welder productivity and ensure adherence to project timelines.Prepare for and support customer audits, inspections, and site visits.Provide technical support during bidding/tendering stage, including review of specifications and cost inputs.Ensure all welding activities comply with customer requirements, quality standards, and are executed in a cost- and time-efficient manner.Troubleshoot and provide solutions for welding-related issues during project execution.Coordinate with customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.Perform additional welding engineering tasks as assigned by GM/Operations Director.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech) – MandatoryMaster’s Degree in Engineering – PreferredCertification in Welding Engineering (IWE/CWE) is an added advantageExperience:Minimum 10 years of experience in welding engineeringStrong experience in static equipment manufacturing (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, etc.)Proven experience working with ASME Codes (Section VIII, IX) and client standardsStrong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and inspection techniquesExperience in procedure qualification and welder certificationAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical abilities#J-18808-Ljbffr
