Job Description

Support the establishment of the tax function, ensure compliance, optimize tax strategies, and manage tax-related risks across the organization. Responsible for conducting gap analysis, advising Finance, Legal, and Operations teams on project tax structures, and overseeing transfer pricing. Additionally, manage the tax compliance cycle for corporate tax, liaise with tax advisors, and monitor tax filings for the company and its subsidiaries.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement transfer pricing policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with local and international transfer pricing regulationsPrepare and review transfer pricing documentation and reportsConduct transfer pricing risk assessments and provide strategic adviceSetting Up the Tax FunctionAssist the Tax Director in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive tax compliance frameworkSupervise the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including VAT and corporate income taxDevelop a system for tracking tax deadlines, payments, and filingsEnsure all group entities comply with local and international tax regulationsImplement best practices for tax risk management and internal controlsGap AnalysisConduct thorough gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current practices and tax code requirements across the AMEA Power GroupMonitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance with new or revised lawsProvide recommendations and strategies to senior management based on analysis findingsAdditional ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with finance and legal teams to identify tax-saving opportunities and implement effective tax strategiesAnalyze the financial impact of various tax scenarios and provide recommendationsOptimize the organization’s tax position through incentives, exemptions, and deductionsOversee the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accurate tax representationLiaise with auditors to address tax-related queries and assist in the audit processProvide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactionsConduct regular tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as requiredPerson SpecificationQualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in the Middle East and AfricaExperience in both Big 4 accounting firms and in-house tax rolesExperience with tax audits and liaising with tax authoritiesManaging tax compliance and reporting for multinational companiesFamiliarity with tax planning and advisory in the renewable energy sectorBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related fieldMaster’s or professional tax qualification preferredRequired SkillsIn-depth knowledge of UAE and international tax laws and regulationsBackground in transfer pricing and corporate tax strategy implementationProficiency in tax compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite#J-18808-Ljbffr
