Senior Specialist Gis

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Specialist - GIS to join our team in Dubai United Arab this role you will lead complex GIS projects provide expert spatial analysis and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes within our organization.Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of GIS databases and task-specific programming for diverse projects.Manage and execute GIS tasks and projects of moderate to high complexity with minimal supervision.Apply critical thinking and advanced technical skills to analyse and solve complex geospatial challenges independently.Utilise expert-level knowledge of GIS software platforms and tools to deliver accurate and insightful geospatial outputs.Coordinate and mentor junior staff providing guidance and oversight on technical tasks and project execution.Conduct technical quality reviews and ensure documentation is maintained in accordance with organisational standards.Perform self-checks on all deliverables to ensure accuracy consistency and quality.Interact directly with clients to gather requirements present findings and support the delivery of projects.Contribute to proposal development and assist in securing project funding or service contracts.Identify and implement improvements to existing processes mainly where no clear precedent exists.Participate in internal initiatives such as UP steering committees focused on integration digital innovation knowledge sharing and diversity & inclusion.Actively engage in professional or industry organisations including serving on committees or working groups.Qualifications :Bachelors or Masters degree in Geographic Information Systems Geography Computer Science or a related fieldMinimum of 6years of experience in GIS and spatial analysisAdvanced proficiency in GIS software particularly ArcGIS and QGISStrong skills in spatial analysis remote sensing and image processingExpertise in database management including proficiency in SQLProficiency in programming languages such as Python and R for GIS applicationsDemonstrated experience in project management and leading GIS initiativesExcellent data visualization and cartography skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication skills both written and verbalExperience with geospatial data collection and processing techniquesFamiliarity with the UAEs geographic and urban landscapeGIS Professional (GISP) certification preferredKnowledge of urban planning or environmental management is a plusAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAdditional Information :About AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
