Job OverviewThe Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer is considered a specialist in the field of Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab), and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Fabrication Function. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Hook Up challenges. Ensure project execution and delivery aligned with project schedule.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute effective strategies for hook-up to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budgetCoordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to determine project requirements and objectivesProvide technical expertise and guidance to the project team and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the hook-up and commissioning phaseConduct regular inspections and audits to monitor the progress and quality of hook-up activitiesIdentify any potential issues or bottlenecks and propose timely solutions to address them effectivelyEnsure hook-up team participation to project engineering and construction surveysDefine the Shutdown and turnaround activities strategy for projectValidate shutdown requirements and critical interfaces, ensure alignment with clientsConduct constructability reviews and provide best industry solutions with cost effective and safe work practicesAct as the single point of contact and decision-making authority on project for developing execution strategy, controlling overall budget and overall project deliveryReview and confirm budget handed over by bidding team post award; any discrepancies shall be reported to PMT along with feasible solutions to either mitigate them or covering them in EACDevelop client relationship, conduct project update meetings with client, ensure alignment for execution strategies, deliverables etc. is agreed with clientsReview critical engineering deliverables, provide constructive feedbackConduct HAZID and SIMOPS workshops on project at appropriate timeEnsure that business risks are identified and managed, and opportunities maximizedEnsure that HDMS database is prepared, and inputs are provided to planner for developing the offshore scheduleEnsure that offshore mobilization readiness reviews are conducted in line with procedure and overall readiness reportedEnsure that critical subcontractors and vendors requirement is pre-defined and are aligned for offshore mobilizationManagement of change (MOC) process (both internal and external) is understood and is implemented as requiredManage and supervise day to day activities in offshore, conduct offshore conference call, ensure all spreads infield are given appropriate attention to ensure safe and timely executionMake offshore visits to ensure management presence ant team motivation during executionParticipate in project close out process including recording lessons learned, best practices of the project to ensure its implementation on upcoming projects and during bidding stageConduct project reviews and endorsing readiness from hook up brownfield perspectiveQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field); a Master's degree is preferred or equivalent industry experienceMinimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in the EPCI industry, with a focus on hook-up and commissioningProven track record of successfully delivering complex hook-up and commissioning projects, preferably with offshore facilitiesIn-depth knowledge and understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to hook-up and commissioningProficiency in using industry-specific software and tools for planning, execution, and documentation of hook-up and commissioning activitiesStrong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary teamsExcellent problem-solving and decision‑making abilities, coupled with a proactive and results‑driven mindsetExceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
