Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on preparing pipeline design deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE on a 5/2 work schedule. This is a full‑time, office‑based role in Sharjah.RoleThis exciting opportunity is for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer.Key ObjectivesPrepare pipeline design deliverablesProvide input to produce pipeline documents and drawingsComplete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)Provide field engineering support for site surveys and data gatheringComplete Material Take Offs and associated Material RequisitionsCoordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluationsIdentify optimisation and operating cost reduction opportunitiesEnsure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulationsCoordinate with interdisciplinary activities such as PFD & P&ID’sManage design team activities and assist Senior Designer and EngineersCo‑ordinate all activities related to pipeline disciplineTravel to Basra, Iraq as requiredPromote safe behaviour at all timesProficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, NavisworksQualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Pipeline EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of experienceExperience in building and producing engineering deliverablesExperience working with multi‑national and multi‑cultural project teamsPrevious experience in the Middle East is an advantageExperience in sour service operations is an advantageFamiliarity with typical software packages used for pipeline engineering designBenefitsMeaningful and interesting projects delivered to high profile clients and complex projects in IraqCommitment to Diversity and InclusionCompetitive salary with regular reviewsCommitment to continued professional developmentGlobal connections and expert networkMedical Insurance covering inpatient and outpatient careGroup Life and Personal Accident InsuranceEmployee Share PlanLong Service Award programmeDiversity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
