Job OverviewThe Senior Manager Hook Up & Commissioning is tasked with developing departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and an understanding of the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Senior Manager Hook Up & Commissioning manages multiple related teams, sets organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. They must identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. They directly impact business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and technologies and developing policies and plans.ResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and specifications while maintaining rigorous quality control standardsImplement best practices and industry standards in hook-up and commissioning operations, seeking continuous improvement opportunitiesLead and direct all aspects of the Hook Up & Commissioning (HUC) phase for projects in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) industryDevelop comprehensive strategies and plans to ensure the smooth execution of HUC activitiesCoordinate with interdisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations to align HUC activities with project milestonesMonitor and ensure compliance with project schedules, budget, quality, and safety standards during the HUC phaseProvide technical guidance and expertise in all HUC-related matters to ensure successful project deliveryReview and approve HUC procedures, methodologies, and work plans to optimize efficiency and reduce risksCollaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and ensure adherence to project specificationsUtilize industry best practices to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for HUC processesSupervise a multidisciplinary team of HUC professionals, ensuring effective utilization of resources and fostering a positive work environmentSet performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and conduct regular performance evaluations for direct reportsIdentify skill gaps and provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and ensure project successFoster strong collaborations across teams and stakeholders to enhance communication, productivity, and the overall success of HUC activitiesOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teamsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Hook Up & Commissioning within the EPCI industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership roleProven track record of successfully delivering HUC projects to completion, with a strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulationsIn-depth knowledge of HUC methodologies, procedures, and best practices within the EPCI industryProficient in project management principles, with a focus on schedule and cost controlExcellent understanding of technical integrity, safety, and quality requirements for HUC activitiesFamiliarity with relevant software tools and systems for project planning, scheduling, and reportingStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to accomplish project goalsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with diverse stakeholdersProven ability to manage and resolve conflicts, make informed decisions, and negotiate contracts and agreementsAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
