Job TitleSenior Executive – Inventory ManagementJob PurposeThe Senior Executive – Inventory Management is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory operations to ensure optimal equipment availability and utilization across various locations. This role supports the inventory and logistics team by tracking movements, analyzing trends, implementing cost‑effective repositioning strategies, and ensuring timely and accurate updates in the system. The role requires coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders to meet operational needs and business goals.Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesInventory Oversight & OptimizationMonitor inventory shortfalls across various locations based on projections and demand patternsDevelop and implement repositioning (repo) plans to optimize inventory levels and container availabilityConduct regular cost comparisons and analysis for repositioning activities to identify savings opportunitiesContainer and Contract ManagementTrack and analyze aging empty containers (MTYs) and plan for effective repositioning or utilizationHandle on‑hire and off‑hire communications with leasing companies, shipping partners, and agentsFile, manage, and update contracts related to inventory and logistics operations, ensuring accuracy and timelinessSystem and Process ManagementEnsure accurate and timely updates of inventory in the inventory management systemPerform weekly comparison checks between system data and manual reports to reconcile discrepanciesMaintain organized records of all inventory movements, contract details, and operational updatesKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Inventory Shortfall: Reduction of shortfalls by 10% per quarter (Weightage: 20%)Repositioning Plan Compliance: 95% adherence to repo timelines (Weightage: 20%)Cost Savings: Achieve 5% cost reduction in repositioning expenses quarterly (Weightage: 20%)Aging Inventory: Decrease aging empty containers by 15% quarterly (Weightage: 20%)System & Contract Accuracy: 100% accuracy in contract management and weekly inventory system updates (Weightage: 20%)Key InteractionsExternal: Line’s Agents, Agency, Feeder, POT, POD, POL, Dubai TradeInternal: Finance, Admin, Operations, Commercial, SalesEducation RequirementsGraduate level educationGood computer skills (shipping software, inventory module, related logistics/shipping/marine certification, MS Office – Excel)Background and ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in MLO/NVOCC shipping industry within Inventory OperationsStrong understanding of inventory flow, port customs, leasing procedures, and documentation requirementsFamiliarity with terminal operating systems, vessel services, and port rotationsExperience in handling high‑volume operational procedures and reportingCore Competencies (Grade D)Integrity & Accountability – Maintains reliability in execution of responsibilities and owns up to outcomes of inventory decisions and actionsCustomer Focus – Prioritizes timely and accurate container movement and reporting to support internal and external customer satisfactionContinuous Learning – Takes initiative to learn from past operational inefficiencies and adopts improvements quicklyAgility – Effectively handles last‑minute operational changes and supports time‑sensitive decisions with confidenceCollaboration & Communication – Clearly communicates inventory plans and updates across stakeholders and supports effective team outcomesInventory Management – Applies best practices in tracking, aging analysis, and stock availability to maintain optimum inventory levelsRepositioning Execution – Plans and follows through on efficient repositioning strategies aligned with commercial needsSystem Accuracy – Ensures precision in data input and reconciliation in inventory and contract systemsDocumentation Handling – Maintains up‑to‑date contract files and inventory reports with high attention to detailOperational Collaboration – Actively supports other departments in resolving container and system issues to meet deadlines#J-18808-Ljbffr
