Together, we can create a better future by delivering clean energy to the global communities that need it most.SUMMARYThe Seafarer Training and Development Manager oversees the entire Crew Training and Competence Development activities for the Seafarers employed on the ETM managed vessels.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, review and maintain the overall crew training portfolio of ETM, including a Crew Training & Qualification Matrix to ensure maintenance and continuous improvement of crew competence, always meeting statutory, safety, operational and client requirements.Continuously review crew performance from GPAs, Audits, Incident Investigations, Client complaints in order to identify relevant crew training needs.Source / select / develop adequate crew training programs and training management tools to effectively address identified training needs.Develop and maintain an effective Seafarer Competence Management System that not only provides competence assurance of the crew employed in specific ranks but also provides clear development path for each rank / role.Source, audit and benchmark and select training providers based on the highest value added at the most competitive cost, with support from SCMStay abreast with industry trends and best practices in relation with crew training and competence development.Provide clear guidance to stakeholders on the existing and future training initiatives, as well as input in any incident investigation, is requested.Provide reports and analysis of the impact crew training and competence development has on the safety and operational indicators of the managed fleet, as well as seafarers satisfaction and engagement.Develop annual training budgets and propose these to the Crew Operation Director with relevant supporting arguments and assumptions.Manage crew training expenditure in line with approved budgets and company guidelines, provide clear justifications for any foreseen and unforeseen deviations, obtaining required approvals in advance where such deviations are significant (over 5% of the agreed budgets)Manage direct reports and various internal and external stakeholders.ABOUT YOUBachelor’s Degree, preferably in a relevant Maritime discipline.Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Seafarer Training & Development Management role ashore.Certification or demonstrated experience with training course development and adult learning is a plus.Very good English language writing and communication skills.Seagoing experience in a management role is an advantage.Knowledge, understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).Thrives in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
